Club donors awarded more than $45,000 in college scholarships this past year to Club and staff members.
The Wise Family Scholarship Foundation was established in 2008 by former Boys & Girls Club of Venice Board President, Michael Wise. Mr. Wise is currently a partner at JH Snyder Company in Los Angeles. The foundation awards four annual $2,000 merit based scholarships each June.
The David C. Mandell "In His Footsteps" Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 through the Boys & Girls Club of Venice in commemoration of the Club's 40th anniversary and honoring David C. Mandell as the Founder and First Executive Director of Boys & Girls Club of Venice. Faye Mandell, the widow of David Mandell, their daughter, Arielle Mandell, along with friends established this scholarship fund. The "In His Footsteps" Memorial scholarship will be awarded to local high school seniors who demonstrate effort, determination, and a commitment to working and partnering with other cultures toward positive goals.
