Boys & Girls Club of Venice offers young people a range of fun and productive activities. The Club is open Monday through Friday after-school from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Research has shown that during this time of day, children are most vulnerable to gangs, violence and other risky behaviors.
Our trained, caring staff implements proven youth development strategies and creates a stable, supportive and promising environment for children and teens ages 6 to 18. The Boys & Girls Club of Venice knows with an education, good health and job skills, our Club members can accomplish their dreams.
The Club provides diverse activities that we call Core Programs to meet the interests of all youth. These programs engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members, which enable them to develop self-esteem and provide them with a solid platform to reach their full potential. The Core Programs developed and implemented in our Club are based on the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs and interests of the youth served.
FIVE CORE PROGRAM AREAS:

Empower youth to become global citizens who support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image and good character, and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.
Enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals, explore careers, prepare for emloyment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
Encourage youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts and creative writing. The Club also has a gallery and workspace for young artists.
Programs develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management and appreciation for the environment and social skills.
An on-site counseling program that aims to strengthen the family unit. All counseling services are provided free of charge to our youth members.
These initiatives focus on meeting significant, specific needs that have been identified by the Boys & Girls Club of Venice. Because their scope is broad, they relate to or complement several or all Core Program areas.
