Skills, Mastery and Resistance Training
SMART Girls is an 8-10 week health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 9 to 14. Currently, grades 4th - 6th meet on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM. Programs are designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles that will enable young girls to develop to their full potential.
In 2008, Dove® partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to conduct self-esteem workshops in multiple Club locations around the country—reaching more than 1,300 girls. Dove® continues to support self-esteem workshops as well as our own SMART Girls program.
Empowering youth to eat right is a generation-changing, life-enhancing program goal, and Triple Play’s nutrition component, called Healthy Habits, covers the power of choice, calories, vitamins and minerals, the food pyramid and appropriate portion size. Healthy Habits is the “Mind” component of Triple Play, which emphasizes eating smart and maintaining physical fitness to improve the overall well-being of Club members. PASSPORT TO MANHOOD
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility while reinforcing positive behavior in male Club members ages 11 to 14. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 small-group sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities.
