Beats Cafe
Feed your mind, body, and soul.
Vision:
To cultivate a holistic approach to wellness that considers the whole person.
Mission:
To help teens make informed food choices so they can achieve personal health and wellness goals.
The Beats Cafe is designed to be a community experience centered on:
· culinary experiences,
· healthy options,
· a sense of environmental and social responsibility.
· education and exposure to where our food comes from and how to prepare it
Leadership:
The Beats' Cafe leadership meets weekly with the staff and teen volunteers to brainstorm and discuss their business plan and marketing strategy.
In Action:
Currently, Beat's Cafe is open weekly with support of local chefs and restaurants that assist the teens in learning where their food comes from and preparing a variety of healthy snacks.
Teen members run the cafe daily and all proceeds go towards Keystone sponsored listening parties and open mike nights.
RootDown LA Cooking Session Sponsored by Jolly Llama

The Jolly Llama Company sponsored Megan of RootDown LA to come into the club's teen lounge to bust myths about healthy food... ps its not too expensive or too time consuming to prepare.
With two teen sous chefs, Megan had the teens preparing quesadillas with kale and shaved beets with homemade ranch while we snacked on kumquats and blood oranges. What a treat!
RootDown LA's Philosophy...
It’s creating nutrition, cooking, and food systems lessons that are relevant and actionable for today’s urban populations – building DEMAND for healthy food.
