Our Mission... 

to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

 

With an annual membership of 4,100, the club serves over 500 youth each day, ages 6-17, and is open 50 weeks a year, five days a week during the school year and offers a ten week camp during the summer.

    • Leo Buscaglia Foundation

      Building community spirit by helping people to help others.

      The mission of the Leo Buscaglia Foundation is to foster the spirit of giving in others by encouraging and nurturing organizations whose goal it is to enhance the spirit of giving, caring and love within their community.

      On June 18, 2010, the foundation awarded $5,000 to the Club in support of the Tech Lab and Learning Center.

    • The Walt Disney Company

      On Tuesday May 4, The Boys & Girls Club of Venice attended a special presentation from The Walt Disney Company and received a $5,000 contribution.

       

      The Walt Disney Company dedicates financial resources and various in-kind gifts to brighten the lives of children in need around the world. In 2008, Disney donated more than $209 million in cash and in-kind support to various charities around the world and continued to draw upon our unique magic to make wishes come true for children and families.

      Continuing the company's longstanding tradition of community service, the company also provides financial and administrative support for Disney VoluntEARS, a program for employee volunteerism. Last year alone, Disney VoluntEARS dedicated their time and talents to improve their communities around the world with more than 495,000 hours of volunteer service. Since the program's inception 26 years ago, VoluntEARS in over 42 countries have donated more than 5,000,000 hours of service.

    • Michael E. Wise

      Mr. Wise graduated from the John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. He currently oversees administration, legal tasks, property management and capitalization of both debt and equity for J.H. Snyder Company. His responsibilities also include reporting and accounting oversight of J.H. Snyder real estate holdings, as well as investor communication, correspondence and meetings.

    • Tradewinds Global Investors

      Tradewinds Global Investors under the direction of company Co-President and Chief Investment Officer David Iben has been a major supporter of the Club. Tradewinds served as the presenting sponsor of the 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational and a Platinum Sponsor of the 4th Annual Fall Gala which honored the volunteer work of Nancy and David Iben who have been longtime supporters of the Club.

    • Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM)

      FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) was introduced to the Club by current Club board member, Dena Stitt, who serves as an executive director at FIDM. The FIDM interior design department was instrumental in the renovation of the Club’s art center, dedicated in January 2009, by providing pro bono interior design work and construction plans by professors and students.

      As growing business leaders, Team TAG gives back to Los Angeles by mentoring and developing its urban youth. Team TAG strives to attain true leadership roles and be the best examples for others to emulate. Their team serve, lead and coach the youth at the Boys & Girls Club of Venice to fulfill their maximum potential.

    • LA84 Foundation

      The LA84 Foundation is a direct legacy of the highly successful 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The Games produced a surplus of $232.5 million and has invested more than $185 million in youth sports in Southern California.
